In case you haven’t already heard, Pedro Pet Pals received an amazingly generous grant from the Hyla Marrow Trust that enabled us to purchase a building in San Pedro: 395 W 7th St. Additional funds were made available to us and we have a $400,000 loan in place.
THE LENDER WILL MATCH “DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR” ANY DONATION DIRECTED TOWARDS THE BUILDING/LOAN FUND! We have already received a commitment of $500 from one of our friends so we’ve started the process of paying off this obligation. Donations can be made on our website, checks can be given or mailed to Theresa and we now accept Venmo.
Theresa and our Board’s vision for this facility is that it will fill two serious gaps in our community: a welcoming space to provide for the adoption of homeless animals as well as a place for the delivery of affordable, basic veterinary services in partnership with other animal supporters.
We are in the process of some initial clean up and preparation so that we can welcome you and others with the goal of giving you an early (and COVID-safe) view of the property before it’s developed and ready for its debut.
In the meantime, we would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Hyla Marrow Trust and its Trustee, Rita Topalian, for making this dream a reality and supporting Pedro Pet Pals in our mission to help animals in need in the Harbor and South Bay areas.
