Well, well, well, looks like I’ve been adopted—how delightful! They tried to be all sweet with me, offering me soft beds and shiny toys, but I knew better. I’m not some average housecat that rolls over for a treat. No, no. These humans seem to think they can impress me with their “look at the cute little kitten!” routine. Pfft. I’ve seen it all. I’m just here to get the lay of the land, take a few naps on my new throne (the couch), and, of course, supervise the tiny humans that keep running around, making noise. I may act all aloof, but let’s be honest, I’m already planning my reign. They think I’m going to let them pet me on command? I think not.
The tiny humans are not so bad, being closer to my size, but sometimes they move a little too fast for my taste. Still, I can’t help but entertain myself with their antics. I allow them to chase me for a bit, just to give them the illusion of control, but we both know who’s in charge here. One of them tried to give me a hug yesterday. I let it happen. Barely. I’m gracious, after all. However, today, one scritched juuuust right behind my ear, and it softened me quite a bit…. maybe I will curl up next to her later in case she has more magic scritches in store for me…
